Description: Homeschool students, teachers and their families are invited to explore the aquarium and participate in educational Activity Stations. Encounter sharks, stingrays, sea turtles and over 10,000 other sea creatures throughout the aquarium.

General Aquarium admission for Homeschool students and families (adults and children) will be offered at a reduced rate during standard open hours. Your admission is valid all day. Aquarium opens at 10am and closes at 7pm (at 8pm on Friday). Discounted admission may still be purchased after Activity Stations have closed.

Activity Stations
10am–2pm

Explore Activity Stations in the classrooms from 10am-2pm. Come and go as you please and take part in interactive learning stations geared towards a variety of ages from Elementary School to High School. Network with other families from the homeschool community, while learning about marine life and science.

Behind-the-Scenes Tour
10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm or 2:30pm

Add a A Behind-the-Scenes Tour!. A 45-minute guided tour that will take you up on deck above the tunnel system where you can see animals that are currently off-exhibit. You will then explore the Laboratory to find out how Sea Life treats and maintains the 1.3 million gallons of water that make up the aquarium. Finally, your tour guide will take you into the Food Prep Kitchen to see what Sea Life feeds its 10,000+ creatures in order to keep them healthy and strong. Behind-the-Scenes Tour are an additional $5+tax per person and must be booked in advance.

Target age range: for all ages! Your group may include any family member, including grandparents. Your guests do not need proof of homeschool status but must be both accompanied by and paid for with a homeschool family.

Cost per person: $7/all-day general admission includes activity stations, applicable sales tax will be applied
Free for children ages 2 and under
+ $5/Behind-the-Scenes Tour (optional, but must be booked in advance)
Regular admission prices are $24.25/adult and $17.25/child. Regular Behind-the-Scenes Tour price is $7.99+tax per person.

Tax-exempt groups must bring a copy of their Tax Exempt Form with them to the aquarium for sales tax to be removed from their transaction.

Tax-exempt groups should bring a copy of their tax-exempt form to the Aquarium to purchase admission at the SEA LIFE Box Office.

All homeschool visitors must show proof of homeschool status at the SEA LIFE Box Office when they arrive. There are several documents that will be accepted as proof that you are a homeschool family:

  1. A membership card from MHA, ECHO-MN, MACHE or other homeschool group
  2. A copy of your "Letter of Intent to Continue Homeschooling"
  3. A copy of your "Initial Report to Superintendent"

You will need ONE of these forms to obtain the homeschool prices.
