Description: The Homeschool Leadership Development Program (LDP) is the first step in Camp St. Croix’s camper leadership training progression. Learn self-confidence, responsibility management, and group development through activity planning. Partnering with a Camp St. Croix Outdoor Education Instructor, learn the knowledge and skills necessary to organize and implement a lesson and activity for younger students.
Students will spend the part of morning programming learning content and preparing an activity under supervision of an Outdoor Education Instructor. After lunch, the students will co-lead the lesson and activity alongside one of Croix’s Outdoor Education Instructors allowing them to have more ownership over their learning experience and character development.
Lesson topic: Walk the banks of the St. Croix River while discussing water’s role in our ecosystem, study aquatic life, and discover the effects humans have on our water quality and supply.
Target age range: for 12–16 years old
Cost per child/student: $17 (includes lunch)
