Homeschool Gym

Tuesday, September 12, 2017Tuesday, October 24, 2017 (7 weeks)
1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Description: Participants will spend time playing various gym games as well as time in the pool learning basic swimming technique.

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about being active and developing healthy habits they'll carry with them throughout their lives. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. The Y is offering a variety of youth classes ranging from sports, crafts, dance, special interests and more. Whether it's gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Participants split their time between the gym and the Fitness Center. Activities include Turbo Kick® and Group Cycle.

Target age range: for ages 12–15 years

Cost per child/student: $33 ($26/YMCA member)

Early bird discount:
10% off Classes--Early Bird pricing ends Monday, August 28, 2017

Registration: Register online at at ymcamn.org or in-person at your Y during regular hours

Parent/guardian/educator policy:

A parent must come into the building and sign each child in and out every day. Students are not allowed to do this for themselves.

To minimize interruptions, parents are asked to ensure that all participants visit the restroom before the beginning of class.

On the first day of class there will be multiple forms for each family to complete and a short meeting for both participants and parents for announcements and daily specifics. Families are asked to arrive five minutes early to allow enough time for this.

Starting with the second week of classes, teens will start in the gym.

Sibling policy: Free Kids Stuff drop-off child care for siblings ages 6 weeks to 10 years old for up to 2 hours per day. Parents must remain in the building while child is in the Kids Stuff area. Your child will enjoy safe, fun, structured, age-appropriate activities including story time, arts & crafts, outdoor playtime and gym time. No reservations required. No additional cost.
