Tuesday, September 19, 2017Tuesday, November 7, 2017
9:00 am – 11:00 am

No class on Tuesday, October 31
Final performance on Tuesday, November 7

Description: An abandoned house sits atop a hill and no one seems to know where it came from and who its inhabitants last were…

Create a Play is SteppingStone’s introduction to devised theatre where young Artists collaborate on an original performance using their own ideas for story, character, dialogue and setting. Supported by a SST Teaching Artist, each class learns skills in theatre elements like acting through voice and movement, improvisation and exploring different expressive styles.

Theatre learning at ages 8-12 looks like:

  • Asking critical questions about characters and plot based on given circumstances.
  • Collectively refine and evolve artistic choices in group devised drama work.
  • Scaffold and build on performance skills in voice, movement and acting.

Target age range: for ages 8–12 years (2nd–6th grades)

Cost per child/student: $100

Registration: Register online at steppingstonetheatre.org/event/homeschool-classes-house-upon-hill/. Late registrations welcome.
