Note: No class November 22 for Thanksgiving Break.

Description: This class introduces students to William Shakespeare—one of the most influential figures in history—and will delve into understanding and appreciating several of his most famous works. The goal of this course is to make Shakespeare accessible through reading and performance. You will be discussing the text, viewing film clips, getting on your feet, and having fun! This class is equal parts literature and performance based.

Class will take place in the instructor’s condominium unit in Arden Hills. More access information will be given upon enrollment.

Target age range: for ages 13-18 years, Students of all levels are encouraged to attend, whether or not they have previous experience with Shakespeare!

Here’s a little bit about me!

  • I was home schooled K-12th grade in Eau Claire Wisconsin.
  • I took part in group classes as a home school student, so I have firsthand experience with the benefits of group learning.
  • I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Northwestern - St. Paul with a dual degree (B.A.) in Theatre and Bible as well as a minor in Music (voice emphasis)
  • I have two years experience as assistant director at Chippewa Valley Theater Guild’s summer high school Shakespeare workshop.
  • I developed and taught a summer Introduction to Shakespeare class to home schooled high school students.
  • I worked as a music and dance instructor at Woodbury Community Theater’s Summer Sizzle camp.
  • I have a passion for Shakespeare, musical theatre, and truth in art.
