Description: Discover how the Arboretum creates new and improved apple varieties. Stand in the research orchard that gave birth to the Honeycrisp and SweeTango apples and taste some of the research varieties in consideration for future release. Learn about pollination, taste test apples, and try your hand at making apple cider the old fashion way. Take home an apple to share what you learned with your family. Enjoy the apples of autumn created by the Arboretum!

Target age range: recommended for 1st-6th grade

Cost per child/student: $8 member/$10 non-member, includes program registration for one child and an accompanying adult.

Sibling policy: Siblings are welcome, but all participating siblings should be registered for the program.

Parent/guardian/educator policy:
 Arboretum admission is not included for non-member adults. A take-home Arboretum apple, and "We Went to the Orchard" and "Orchard Help Wanted: Hire Me!" Reflect & Write activities to reinforce your experience at home.
