Play and MakeCode for Minecraft

Description: Play in Minecraft while learning how to code with Microsoft’s MakeCode platform. Program an Agent robot to complete challenges and even change the weather, or as they say in the world of Minecraft: make it rain Ocelots and Wolves!

By the end of this Workshop, participants will have:

  • Increased confidence in their technical and coding skills
  • Improved their computational and creative thinking
  • Read and understand code in the MakeCode environment
  • Programmed code in Minecraft to change the weather and control an agent

Target age range: ages 8–12 years
No experience with MakeCode or Minecraft is required.

Cost per child/student: freepreregistration required

Registration: You must preregister online with the Microsoft store to attend this free event.

Parent/guardian/educator policy: The parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult caregiver of every participant under 17 years of age must sign a Participation Agreement upon arrival and remain in Microsoft Store for the duration of the event.
