Homeschool Create-A-Play: Secret Life of Toys

Tuesday, April 10, 2018Tuesday, May 22, 2018 (7 weeks)
9:00 am – 11:00 am

Final performance on Tuesday, May 22

Description: Here’s a question for you – what do your toys do while you’re away? Do you think they go on adventures? Do you think those adventures bring them to Outer Space?! Let your imagination run wild. To infinity and beyond!

Throughout this class young artists collaborate to create an original play using their imaginations & teamwork to develop the plot, characters, dialogue, and setting.

Create a Play is SteppingStone’s introduction to devised theatre where young Artists collaborate on an original performance using their own ideas for story, character, dialogue and setting. Supported by a SST Teaching Artist, each class learns skills in theatre elements like acting through voice and movement, improvisation and exploring different expressive styles.

Theatre learning at ages 4-7 looks like:

  • Expressing individual ideas that contribute to a larger group idea.
  • Proposing details to plot and characters.
  • Inventing and inhabiting imaginary environments with dramatic play.

Target age range: for ages 4–7 years (PreK–1st grades)

Cost per child/student: $100

Registration: Register online at steppingstonetheatre.org/event/cap-4-7-infinity/. Late registrations welcome.
