West Metro Homeschool Band

Description: West Metro Homeschool band meets in both Golden Valley (Wednesdays) and St. Michael (Tuesdays), and comes together for a concert at the end of each semester.  The band consists of all ages and all abilites playing together.  Instrument-playing parents/granparents, etc. are welcome to join the band, as well.  Band practice is weekly, and the included lessons are on the same day as band practice.

Grade level: Grade 4 and up; all-ages, all-abilities

When do you meet? Tuesdays at Connect Church in St. Michael; Wednesdays at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley.  Band practice is around noon and lasts 45-60 minutes.  Lessons occur both before and after band practice.  Lessons are either 15 minutes for a private lesson, or 30 minutes for a lesson with one other person of the same instrument and level.

Costs: $55 per month for first student, $50 per month for second student in family.  Fee includes band practice and lessons.  If lessons are taken elsewhere, the cost for band-only is $35 per month.  Students must provide their own instrument, and will need to purchase a lesson book.  There is also a yearly donation requested ($40 per family) for the use of the meeting place.
