Templates for Payment Instructions emails
sent upon registration

Please read PayPal Pitfalls before accepting payments via PayPal. While the following scripts include instructions for accepting payments via PayPal, just delete that section should you decide against using PayPal.

The following instructions are based on the combined experience of many experienced organizers, and we recommend that you use them as is, but if you wish, you may write your payment instructions any way you want to satisfying your needs, your personality, and your event.

HomeschoolRecess will send Payment Instructions automatically and immediately upon registration, but if you're accepting registrations via email or a Yahoo Database, you'll need to send them to each registrant manually. You may prefer to send individual instructions to each person or send a single email to multiple registrants.


Payment Instructions for use with Email or Yahoo Database Registrations

Thank you for registering for [NAME OF EVENT]!

The payment deadline is [DATE], but please mail your payment today.

If I don't receive payment by the deadline, your family may be
removed from the registration list.

You will be emailed a payment confirmation when I receive your payment.
If the payment deadline is approaching, and you've sent your payment but
haven't received a payment confirmation, please contact me.

--- To pay by check, please include a print out of the first page of this
email or a note with your name, number of people registered, and the name
of the event.
Please make your check payable to [YOUR NAME] and mail it to:

AMAZON PAYMENTS INSTRUCTIONS

1. Login to your Amazon Payments account at
https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/personal/money
2. Click "Send Money"
3. Enter [ORGANIZER AMAZON ACCOUNT ADDRESS] as the recipient
4. Enter the amount you want to send.
5. In the Notes section, please enter your name and "HSA payment - [NAME OF EVENT]"
then click Continue.
6. Select how you want to pay (Amazon funds, bank withdrawal, etc)
7. Confirm

PAYPAL INSTRUCTIONS
-- To use Paypal, please note that if you don't follow these instructions,
PayPal will deduct fees, and I won't get the full amount you owe for this
trip. Please contact me before proceeding if you do not understand any
of the following as your registration will remain unpaid until I receive
the full amount that you owe.

1. Login to your PayPal account at https://www.paypal.com/
2. Click on the "Send Money" tab
3. Select the "Personal" tab (which appears below To and Amount)
4. For the To field, enter [ORGANIZER PAYPAL ACCOUNT ADDRESS]
5. For the Amount field enter the total due.

6. Select the "Payment Owed" radio button
7. Click on Continue

8. At the bottom of the next page, under "Email to recipient" change the
Subject field to "HSA payment - [NAME OF EVENT]"

Reimbursement Instructions for use on HomeschoolRecess

This version uses replacement tokens recognized by HomeschoolRecess, automatically customizing the instructions for each event and participant.

The default instructions on HomeschoolRecess include instructions for payment by check only.

If you wish to accept payment via PayPal or Amazon Payments, you'll need to

  • go to the Signup tab for your event
  • click on Signup status Email
  • cut and paste the appropriate text below into Notification settings for status 'New Registration' - E-mail notifications when the initial status is 'New Registration'.

Payment instructions are automatically sent from admin(at)homeschoolrecess.com immediately after someone registers for an event.

approaching, and you've sent your payment but haven't received an email receipt,
please double-check your spam folder for an email from admin [at] homeschoolrecess [dot] com
and then contact me at [author-mail-raw], [field_org_addy-phone] if you don't find it.
