Description: Boneshaker Books is a community supported, collectively organized, and volunteer run bookstore whose mission is to provide a welcoming space that promotes social justice and movements through books, education, and activism. Boneshaker Books offers progressive and radical literature and a place to spark conversation, inform, and inspire.

Boneshaker Books is also home to the Women's Prison Book Project. This great group provides books to female and transgender inmates across the country through mail requests.

Description: A beautiful, sunny room for meetings, book clubs and author events during Boneshaker Books’ open hours.

Capacity: about 20 people.

Cost: free

Policies: Groups using Boneshaker Books’ meeting room are asked to give Boneshaker Books a shout-out, perhaps on their own website, on Facebook, on the radio or on paper. Additionally, if you're charging an entry fee, Boneshaker Books asks that you share some of the proceeds.

Getting there

Parking information: Street parking only.

Driving directions: Located in the Milwaukee Avenue Historic District, near intersection of I-94 and I-35W, just a few blocks from Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota’s West Bank Campus. Boneshaker Books is about 5 blocks west of Hiawatha Ave, just off E Franklin Ave, in the same group of buildings as Hoffman Guitars and Precision Grind Coffee. Boneshaker Books is just across the street from the Playwrights’ Center and down the block from Welna II Hardware, Seward Cafe, Pizza Lucé Seward/University, and Tracy's Saloon & Eatery.
