Description: Continental Ballet Company is dedicated to proper education in the art of classical ballet. The emphasis is on technique, rather than memorization of routines. Classes contain repetition balanced by original choreography. A simple, short student recital is offered in the middle of June to showcase the students’ progress that year.
Continental Ballet Company is a professional performing company and a school of ballet. Instructors are dancers with the company, and they are motivated to teach because of their love of ballet and their desire to share their knowledge and experience.
Continental’s studio has a suspended marley dance floor and is properly equipped with barres and mirrors. It is a spacious and beautiful studio.
While the students work hard in class, Continental Ballet Company wants the time to be a pleasant and affordable experience for students and their families. There is an opportunity for students to see the progression of ballet from studio to rehearsal to stage. In addition to providing excellent training, Continental Ballet Company instructors foster an understanding and appreciation of the art of dance.
Uniform: Students may wear comfortable clothing that allows instructors to see the lines of the body — such as leggings, or fitness attire. No legwarmers. Recommended attire for boys is a white t-shirt, black tights, and black ballet slippers. Recommended attire for girls is a leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be secured in a low bun, away from the face.
