Description: The Mississippi River defines the boundary of the 160-acre Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park providing many opportunities to see this great river up close. From the 12-foot-wide observation walkway and bike path on top of the Dam, spanning the river between Brooklyn Park on the west and Coon Rapids on th eeast, enjoy spectacular scenery, the roar of the water, and rainbows in the mist. A handicapped-accessible fishing and observation deck is just below the Dam. Follow the more than two miles of trails along the bank of the River and disappear into the beauty and quiet of nature. Walk past several "deserted" islands and explore the sites wetlands and woods. The Rush Creek Regional Trail is nearly 10 miles of paved trail linking Elm Creek Park Reserve to Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park. the park’s abundant wildlife includes mink, beaver, hawks, osprey, deer, turtles and river otters. In winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are popular activities.

Merge onto West River Rd
Turn off to park is on your right

From I-90, take exit 29B for US Hwy 169 north
Take exit to MN Hwy 610 east
