Field tripsGetting there

CTV North Suburbs is a community access center serving 10 suburbs of Ramsey and Hennepin counties just north of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Professional video equipment and facilities are used to develop technical and critical skills for volunteer producers. CTV Teens is a rapidly growing and award-winning youth program where teens learn media production and literacy skills.

Field trips

CTV North Suburbs partners with homeschool groups to provide short- or long-term workshops, both on-site and off, and custom group tours of the studio.

CTV North Suburbs offers 3 to 6 session workshops tailored to youth in media literacy, basic camera and editing to create collaborative video projects. The curricula can be tailored to your projects and/or learning needs. Learn how to use professional-grade equipment, run through the production process, and facilitate a finished production. Students in small groups can create documentaries, public service announcements, personal narratives or other content. And to top it off, they get to air their content online and throughout the 10-cities area.

CTV North Suburbs always happy to host a field trip to the studio. Youth can learn studio production and make use of the facilities (which yes, includes a green screen) in either a 45-minute tour, or half-day studio training & show taping.

Individuals are welcome to explore other CTV Teens programs or CTV North Suburbs' certification classes to become a volunteer producer and create their own media.
