School Performances | Field Trips | Discounted Tickets | Getting There
Remarkable things happen every day in SteppingStone's beautifully restored 100-year-old theater in the historic Summit Hill neighborhood: imaginations are sparked, minds are expanded, creativity and self-expression are brought distinctively to life.
SteppingStone Theatre works with local playwrights and composers to develop and write most of its plays, and premieres three or four new shows each season. The performers are children and youth aged 9 to 18 who work in a professional setting with some of the Twin Cities’ top theater artists for six or more weeks prior to opening night.
SteppingStone's proscenium stage provides great visibility from any seat.
Plays are chosen for both their educational and entertainment value, and Educational Resource Guides are available for most productions.
Each weekday matinee is followed by a question and answer session with the cast about the content of the show and the rehearsal process.
Weekday matinees are at 10am and 12pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
All shows are approximately one hour in length plus 10 minutes of discussion time.

Please contact SteppingStone immediately if you need to change or cancel your order, or if your payment will be delayed, so SteppingStone can help find solutions that will work for you. If you have students absent on the day of your performance, or have unused wristbands, retain them. They may be used to attend another performance during the current season, or applied to future group reservations. If weather prevents your group from attending, please contact SteppingStone immediately so they know not to expect you. SteppingStone will work with you to find another date for your group. It is extremely rare that SteppingStone Theatre would cancel a performance due to weather.
