Indoor rock climbing is a great way to introduce your students to a unique experience in a controlled, professional environment. Vertical Endeavors offers a variety of experiential education opportunities where students can broaden their horizons, try a new activity, and step out of their comfort zones. The benefits of indoor rock climbing include promoting mental and physical health, improving self-esteem and self-confidence, encouraging teamwork and leadership, and developing problem-solving and goal-setting skills.
Vertical Endeavors is very well set up for first-time climbers. With 25 Auto Belays (a device that takes up slack in the rope as you climb and slowly lets you down when you let go) and three bouldering caves, anyone can be climbing after a short orientation.
Climbers should wear loose comfortable athletic clothing and tight shoes (climbing shoes are available for rent). Long hair should be tied back.
Cost per child/student: $14 (includes harness rental)
Cost per adult/educator: FREE for chaperones, $14 to climb (includes harness rental)
Climbing shoe rental: $5, optional. Any tight closed-toe shoe may be worn.
Registration: Sign-up on the day of the event at Vertical Endeavors.
Liability waiver: Everyone, including climbers, chaperones, and spectators must complete a Vertical Endeavors Liability Waiver. Please double check each waiver to make sure it is complete. Anyone without a fully completed waiver will not be allowed to enter.
Parent/educator policy: Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Adult chaperones must have a signed Liability Waiver to enter the facility. Adult chaperones should expect to be actively involved as spotters and working with Auto Belays. Parents or legal guardians must sign a Liability Waiver form for their children.
Sibling policy: All children under 18, including spectators, must have a Liability Waiver form signed by their parent or legal guardian to enter the facility.
