Westwood Hills Nature Center is a 160-acre natural area featuring marsh, woods and restored prairie providing homes for many animals including deer, fox, mink and owls. Please note that pets are not allowed anywhere in the nature center, and bikes are not allowed on any of the trails.

Homeschool Classes

Westwood Hills Nature Center offers monthly classes throughout the year that will help children learn and develop skills in natural science and outdoor recreation. The classes are designed for a variety of ages and learning styles.

Cost per Child/Student:  $7/child or $5 for Saint Louis Park residents
Cost per Adult/Educator: free 

Target Age Range/Grade Level/Prerequisite Skills: generally ages 4 through 14 

Sibling Policy: Non-enrolled siblings (younger or older) may accompany their parents but may not participate in the program. Parents are asked to use their best judgement as to whether or not their non-participating children will be disruptive to the program.
Parent/Guardian/Educator Policy: Children should be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

Cost per Adult/Educator: free

Minimum Group Size: $66 (which comes to 12 children at $5.50/child)
Maximum Group Size: 25 children 

Target Age Range: preschoolers through adult.

Gathering Place Recommendations: There is a playground right by the parking lot that makes for a handy meeting place. The interpretive center itself is up a pathway and not visible from the parking lot.
